Lime & Basil Kebabs


  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoon orange zest
  • 4-6 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 2 handful of basil leaves (or the basil that comes in a tube)
  • 2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper


  • 1 pound of beef (try chuck, top sirloin, rib-eye, tri-tip or tenderloin) cut into 1-inch cubes (Or can use chicken or pork…)
  • 2 bell peppers, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 red onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • baby tomatoes
  • small cap mushrooms
  • Kebab sticks

Place the cubes of meat in a large, sealable plastic bag or a glass bowl.

In a blender, combine lime juice, coconut oil, orange zest, garlic cloves, basil, cumin, salt and pepper until smooth.

Pour marinade over the meat. Let marinate overnight in the refrigerator. (Note if using chicken reserve some marinade for drizzle in next step)

Assemble Kebabs and drizzle with Marinade.
